Prior to becoming an attorney, Ted was infatuated with the camera. His endeavors behind the lens propelled his career forward, where he worked with big brands and even bigger names. He went from photographer, to producer, manager, and eventually led branding efforts during the rise of social media. Now, as an attorney, he understands the struggles and roadblocks facing creatives and business makers and is positioned to be both their defender and guide.

Ted’s father, an immigrant from Vietnam, worked his way through school doing janitorial work at the very college he attended. Later, his father became the first Vietnamese judge in Orange County, focusing his efforts on workers’ compensation and campaigning for the issues he faced while working toward his degree.

Inspired by his father’s resilience and his own journey as a creative, Ted followed his father’s footsteps and attended law school. He now channels his expertise and experience to protect and empower creatives, entrepreneurs, and businesses of all sorts. His time spent in business, entertainment, and the gig economy informs his compassionate approach.

“I think I have a really good understanding of how traditional media merges with new media. And a lot of these older firms have reached out to me to serve as a contractor, an expert witness on social media, and how it all plays into what people are doing now.”

“Because I've been an artist myself, I truly understand the limitations of what they can do, and put the guardrails in a contract to make sure they're protected throughout the whole creative process.”

“My identity as an Asian American in the LGBTQ community, are two identities that I believe are helpful for my clients who don’t feel represented in the entertainment space by champions that share the same unique experiences. “
